A fresh PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking postponement of assembly elections in the state, scheduled in October and November, due to the raging COVID-19 pandemic and serious flood situation.
The apex court had, 10 days ago, dismissed a similar PIL seeking postponement of assembly polls in Bihar till the state is free from novel coronavirus infections. The latest plea, filed by Rastravadi Janta Party chief Anil Bharati, has sought a direction to the Election Commission of India to postpone the Bihar Legislative election and also for it to be held “sometime in the month of March 2021.”
