Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience rainfall and thunderstorm coupled with lightning and gusty surface wind till April 1. IMD has forecast fresh western disturbance from Wednesday.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued a yellow warning for several districts of the state in this regard. Heavy rainfall has also been forecast in some parts of the state.
Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 29.03.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda and Balasore districts.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.03.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 30.03.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Khurda.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.03.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 31.03.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.03.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 01.04.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal.
Heavy rainfall is also very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack.
Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.04.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 02.04.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput.
