New Delhi: Having personally received Vladimir Putin at Palam airport on Thursday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi drove with the Russian President to his official residence at Lok Kalyan Marg where he hosted a private dinner for his ‘good friend’.

Modi presented a copy of Bhagvad Gita in Russian to Putin.

“Presented a copy of the Gita in Russian to President Putin. The teachings of the Gita give inspiration to millions across the world,” Modi posted on X along with a picture of him presenting the Gita.

But that was not the only present Modi gave Putin. There was a carefully curated set of other gifts which reflected India’s rich culture, craftsmanship and heritage.

Following are Modi’s other gifts to Putin:

Assam Black Tea, which is known for its robust malty flavour and bright liquor, and carries a GI tag.

Silver Tea Set, crafted in Murshidabad with intricate engravings.

Silver Horse, a handcrafted piece from Maharashtra symbolising dignity, valour, and ever-advancing India-Russia partnership.

Marble Chess Set, an intricately inlaid chess set from Agra which blends north Indian artistry with elegance, combining marble, wood and semi-precious stones.

Kashmiri Saffron, or ‘red gold’, a prized spice appreciated for its aroma, flavour and health benefits, reflecting Kashmir’s heritage and craftsmanship.
