Cuttack: Ipsita Priyadarsini of Odisha’s Cuttack, who has made it to the Top 20 of the first-ever Mrs Femina online hunt, shared some of her struggle and journey to ‘odishabytes’.
A positivist in attitude, she said in a way COVID-19 pandemic helped her in the contest. Since she is a software engineer by profession, she was working from home for the pandemic and being with the family helped her manage time for the preparation.
“For my hard work and dedication, I could be in top 20. I am a software engineer in Accenture, Hyderabad. Due to COVID pandemic, we are doing work from home. Simultaneously I was preparing for the contest, as I had interest in modelling and acting since my childhood,” said Ipsita.
“The Mrs Femina online hunt was started in February, 2021. There were four rounds including fashion, beauty, cooking and talent rounds. I tried to represent Odisha in each round. Like, in fashion round, my costume was of Bonda and Kondh tribes of Odisha. In cooking, I prepared Chhunchi Patra Pitha (Thin Paper Crust Stuffed Pancake). I feel proud to be an Odiani,” she added.
“I had to work hard for my voice modulation, communication, content creation and of course, video editing, as it is an online contest. In Femina page, there are 1.1 million viewers. We have to be very careful in each and every step. I was also reading a lot and taking care of my diet and skin,” said Ipsita.
“Best part of my life is that all my family members are very supportive. My husband has always stood by me in every step,” she added.
“Besides my mentors in Femina, my mother and mother-in-law have guided me in this journey. My mother-in-law runs a boutique in Bengaluru. She has a very good fashion sense,” said 27-year-old Ipsita.
“Though we are staying in a patriarchal society, I have got that freedom to take my own decision, both before and after marriage. I had started modelling and acting when I was 16 years,” she added.
“I want to bring the Mrs Femina crown for Odisha where I plan to open a grooming centre,” she said.
Ipsita is an alumnus of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. She was the second runner-up in Supermodel India-2019 and crowned Miss Ethnic Odisha-2015. She also figured among the top 5 contestants of Zee TV Miss Ethnic India-2015.
Twenty women will be competing for the crown in this online talent hunt organised by Worldwide Media Private Limited to recognise women who are leading the charge for a progressive society.
The result of top 10 will be declared on March 24 and the final result a month after.
