New Delhi: As the BJP is set to win the Delhi Assembly elections, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took a veiled dig at opposition INDIA bloc members Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on social media. He mocked AAP’s imminent defeat.
Abdullah, a senior leader of the National Conference, which is also part of the INDIA bloc, took to X and shared a popular meme. “Jee bhar kar lado. Samaapt kardo ek dusre ko! (Fight to your heart’s content. Finish off each other)” he wrote, taking a sarcastic dig at the AAP-Congress conflict as the parties decided to go solo in the Delhi polls despite being members of the India Bloc.
He also mockingly captioned the post: “Aur lado aapas mein!!! (Fight amongst yourselves some more, why don’t you?)”
The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister had previously questioned the alliance’s long-term purpose. He has stated that it “should be wound up if it was only for parliamentary polls.”
Meme fest on social media: Netizens say ‘Karma is laughing’
As the poll counting took off, social media turned into a battleground of opinions, humor and political banter. From memes to fiery debates, netizens reacted to the outcomes in their own ways. Most mocked the AAP and Congress for their poll debacles as some pointed out that ‘Karma was laughing’ today.
One of the memes shared by an X user showed BJP enjoying the support from Delhi voters, while AAP is shown as a child struggling to stay afloat in a swimming pool. It further shows Congress as a drowned ship in the sea.
Another meme shows AAP and BJP at the starting line of a race, facing towards the running lane while Congress is shown facing in the opposite direction.
