Bhubaneswar: The Congress on Wednesday questioned the source from where the Rs 20 lakh crore announced by the PM for economic revival would come.
“I am happy that the special package announced by the Prime Minister will be of great help to improve the livelihood of the poor, farmers and the middle class. But it is not clear whether the money would be sourced from the Union Budget or from the other sources,” president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Niranjan Patnaik told the media here.
Referring to the PM’s request to the people to opt for local products, he said there is no novelty in it as Mahatma Gandhi had also given a nationwide call to the people during the independence struggle.
The Congress leader, however, criticised the Centre and the Odisha government for their failure in providing food and free railway tickets to stranded migrant workers who want to come back to their native place.
