FTII To Conduct More Short Term Courses In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Bringing a new hope among aspiring filmmakers in Odisha, the first of its kind Film Appreciation Course jointly conducted by the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute of Orissa (BPFTIO), Cuttack came to an end in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, FTII, Director Bhupendra Kainthola said “Keeping in view the interest of people who are unable to join courses held at Pune, we have started these kind of Film Appreciation Course at various parts of country. The response in Bhubaneswar has been very encouraging. We will come up with more courses like these at regular interval for the benefit of budding film makers and film lovers”. As many as 99 participants were given away the completion certificates.

“It was a privilege to get an opportunity to join the course. This has enriched my experience as a film maker and will help me fine tune my future assignments,” said Lambodar Hotta, Chartered Accountant by profession, and film maker by passion based in Kenya.

“Though I always had a passion for watching films and had interest to go deep into the making of this art form, I never got an opportunity due to lack of time. I have learnt a lot by interacting with professionals here,” said a retired Bank Officer.

Among others, acclaimed film maker Susant Mishra, Director, Skill Education, Balwant Singh, Principal BPFTIO, Dillip Panda graced the concluding event.

As last schedule of the course participants were shown Hindi thriller ‘Moh Maya Money’ made by Munish Bharadwaj.
