Fuel Outlets In Odisha’s Keonjhar Asked To Maintain Emergency Reserve Stock

Keonjhar: With fuel shortage looming over Odisha, the administration in Keonjhar has directed all retail outlets in the district to maintain a minimum reserve stock of petrol and diesel to meet emergency needs.

Sources said the Keonjhar Collector has issued a letter directing all petrol pumps i

n the district to keep at least 2,000 litres of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) and 1,000 litres of Motor Spirit (MS/Petrol) in reserve at all times. The letter was addressed to proprietors of all retail outlets.

Officials said the move is aimed at ensuring availability of petroleum products during emergency situations. The reserve stock has been earmarked exclusively for emergency requirements and should not be exhausted during normal sale operations.

The administration has also warned that any deviation from the directive would be viewed seriously.

The step has been taken at a time when fuel availability is reportedly being hit in several parts of Odisha with fuel outlets witnessing long queues.
