New Delhi: Fuel price touched a record high at most places on Sunday as oil companies hiked prices due to relentless rise in international oil market.
In Delhi, the petrol price was hiked by 33 paisa, the highest since June 2017. The diesel price increased to 26 paisa.
With this, the price of petrol on Delhi now stands at 76.24 per litre and diesel at Rs 67.57 per litre.
The prices has been increasing for the seventh consecutive day under the daily price revision, after a 19-day hiatus due to the Karnataka polls.
So far, in the last seven days, the petrol has been raised by INR 1.61 a litre and diesel by 1.64.
In Bhubaneswar, the petrol price now stands at Rs 75.06 and diesel at Rs 74.74.
The cheapest petrol is available in Panjim where a litre comes for INR 70.26.
As per estimate, oil companies have lost about Rs 500 crore for absorbing prices during the 19-day Karnataka poll hiatus, due to hike in international rates and fall in US dollar.
