Karachi: Fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim has been hospitalised in Pakistan’s Karachi due to serious health complication, reports said on Monday.
It is being speculated that the 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind was poisoned, but there is no official confirmation on the same from either the Indian side or the Pakistani side.
Reports further said that he was admitted to the hospital two days ago and had since been kept under tight security being the only patient on his floor. Only top hospital authorities and his close family members have access to the floor.
Earlier this year, Alishah Parkar, the son of the don’s sister Haseena Parkar, told the National Investigative Agency (NIA) that Ibrahim had settled in Karachi after marrying for the second time. In their indictment of Dawood Ibrahim, the NIA also hinted that Ibrahim and his closest associates control the airport in Karachi.
The 1993 bombings resulted in the death of over 250 people and left thousands injured.
