Nayagarh: The undertrial prisoner, who had escaped from Khandapada sub-jail, was arrested near his village Karabara on Monday.
The undertrial prisoner, identified as Tapan Rout, had managed to escape from the jail for the second time on Saturday morning. He had also ran away on May 10, but was caught later.
Notably, he was arrested on charges of raping a girl.
As Tapan escaped from the jail twice, two more cases have been lodged against him in Khandapada police station.
When he had fled the sub-jail on May 10, the jail superintendent had suspended sub-jail warder Kishore Kumar Sahoo.
