Bhubaneswar: Even as the mercury plummeted to 5 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district, the Inda Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday forecast a gradual rise in the night temperature across Odisha after 24 hours.
“There will be no large change in the night temperature during the next 24 hours and gradually rise thereafter by 3-4 degree Celsius at many places in the state,” the IMD said in its midday bulletin.
Shallow to moderate fog is also likely at some places during the next two days – Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Puri and Khurda between 8.30 am on Wednesday to 8.30 am on Thursday and Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Cuttack, Kalahandi and Rayagada during the subsequent 24 hours.
Besides G Udayagiri, five other places in the state – Semiliguda in Koraput (5.7), Kirei in Sundargarh (6.8), Phulbani (8), Jharsuguda (9) and Rourkela (9.2) – recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours.
