Bhubaneswar: After a few days of biting cold, Odisha experienced a slight rise in the night temperature with G Udayagiri recording 5 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.
The mercury had plummeted to 3 degree Celsius in this hill station in Khandhamal district in the last 3 days amid strengthening of cold and dry north-westerly or northerly lower level winds.
Phulbani (6.5 degree Celsius), Semiliguda in Koraput and Kirei in Sundargarh (each at 8 degree Celsius) and Sundargrah and Ranital in Bhadrak (each at 9.5 degree Celsius) were the other places in the state where the night temperature dropped below 10 degree Celsius this morning.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 14.9 degree Celsius and 15.5 degree Celsius respectively. Chanbali and Paradip saw shallow to moderate fog.

The MeT Office has forecast a further rise in the night temperature by 2 degree Celsius in the next two days and no large change thereafter. While weather conditions will remain dry, there is no fog warning for the next five days.
