Bhubaneswar: Phulbani in Odisha’s Kandhamal districts experienced dense fog on Sunday, which restricted visibility and affected vehicular movement, as the minimum temperature plummeted to 12 degree Celsius.
However, G Udayagiri (Kandhamal) was the coldest at 10 degree Celsius followed by Similiguda (Koraput) at 11.4 degree Celsius, while Daringbadi also in Kandhamal recorded 12 degree Celsius.
The other places in the state where the mercury dropped to 15 degree Celsius and below are Boudh (13), Koraput (13.5), Jharsuguda (13.8), Bhawanipatna (14), Bargarh (14.5), Keonjhar (14.8) and Sudargarh and Angul at 15 degree Celsius.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 18.5 degree Celsius and 19 degree Celsius respectively. The minimum temperature in these cities is likely to drop to 17 degree Celsius in the next five as with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting a fall in the night temperature by 2 to 3 degrees in the next two days with no large change thereafter.
Bhubaneswar may experience fog and mist and record the lowest temperature of 18 degree Celsius in the next 24 hours.
