Bhubaneswar: G Udaygiri in Odisha’s Kandhamal district was the coldest in the state with the temperature recorded at 5.4 degree Celsius on Sunday. Phulbani of the district too recorded another low of 8.5 degrees while the temperature in Kirei of Sundargarh district stood at 9 degree Celsius.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar, morning report, Angul experienced dense fog condition while shallow fog was witnessed at Malkangiri.
Cuttack registered 14.8 degree C, in capital city of Bhubaneswar the minimum temperature was 17.4 degree C.
The cold condition continues to prevail in some parts of the state after a slight rise in temperature.
The IMD has predicted return of severe cold wave condition in Odisha from Sunday till February 10 following which yellow warning has been issued for several districts of Odisha.
The night temperature is expected to fall by 2 to 4 degree Celsius till February 10 under the influence of northwesterly/ northerly dry and cold wind at lower level penetrating the state, the Met office said.
The districts are Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Nuapada and Nabarangpur.
