Bhubaneswar: The youths in the country should focus on skilling besides their academic pursuits to be able to utilise the opportunities coming before them, said Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Monday.
Inaugurating the third Education Group meeting of G20 in Bhubaneswar, the minister said the skills acquired through student career can help the youths meet the challenges in life. He was speaking on the topic “Transforming logistics for coastal economies with a focus on sustainability” at the meeting held at the Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) campus in the city.
Chandrasekhar, who also inaugurated the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) stall at the G20 Future of Work exhibition, said, “The exhibition is a message for the students and the academicians that the future workforce requires a skill set that is new in nature. It exhibits all the facets of skills which the country would need in future.”
Stating that the country is on the path of unprecedented growth in almost every sector, he said, “India is now 5th largest economy in the world and will rush to number 3 spot soon.”
