Gajapati: The workers of the District Motor Transport Association staged a bus strike on Wednesday to demand the closure of all liquor shops on the bus stand premises.
They also submitted a memorandum with eight demands to the district administration.
The agitators also demanded action against the bus owners who used kerosene instead of diesel and plied old vehicles. They also sought a ticket counter at the bus stand.
They threatened to continue the strike till their demands were fulfilled.
