Bhubaneswar: Police seized 1500 vehicle batteries from three trucks in Mancheswar industrial estate on Thursday.
Police also arrested six persons from neighbouring West Bengal for allegedly smuggling the batteries.
Police sources said the batteries were stolen from vehicles in Ganjam and the accused were taking them to Bengal. The accused had put Army stickers on the trucks carrying the batteries to hoodwink police.
However, police received a tip-off and raided the trucks.
Police said the arrested were members of an inter-state racket.
