Mumbai: Kunal Kemmu has come a long way in Bollywood.
From a child artiste to an actor, and now director!
The 39-year-old Kunal, who is married to Sharmila Tagore’s daughter Soha Ali Khan, chose the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi to announce the news of his debut as a director in a film titled ‘Madgaon Express’.
“Ganpati Bappa Moriya! As all good things begin with his name I can’t think of a better day to share this with all of you. It started with a thought in my head, which grew into a dream which flowed out through my fingers into words on my laptop, and now it is becoming a reality,” Kunal wrote on Instagram.
Written and directed by Kunal, ‘Madgaon Express’ will be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s production banner Excel Entertainment.
Kunal, who has acted in films like Malang, Kalank, Simmba, Golmaal Again, Golmaal 3, Raja Hindustani and Sir, is yet to announce the cast of ‘Madgaon Express.’
The upcoming venture of Excel Entertainment, co-founded by Farhan and Ritesh, is ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. Excel has previously bankrolled blockbusters like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Chahta Hai, Don, Don 2.
