Ganesh Puja In Bhubaneswar Tops It All With 46-Ft Idol

Bhubaneswar: A Ganesh Puja pandal at Saheed Nagar in the city has become the cynosure of all eyes with its 46-ft-high idol of Dasabatara Ganesh.

The idol at the Winners Association’s pandal was sculpted by artisans from Kendrapara over a period of around 40 days.

Umanath Mishra, an office bearer of the association, said the specialty of the idol is that natural colours have been used to make it eco-friendly. “A 50-kg ladoo will be placed near the idol,” he added.

The celebrations will be held for seven days adjacent to the pandal. Cultural functions, including bhajan and kiratn, will be held every evening and Ollywood actors and actress will be present. Besides, a Meena Bazar will be held on the occasion.

Mishra said Governor Ganeshi Lal is scheduled to visit the pandal on September 5. “Children of a city-based orphanage and differently-abled students will also visit our pandal. After Prasad Sevan, we will give them a pen and copy,” he added.

Bhashani (idol Immersion ceremony) will be held on September 8. Jodi Sankha, Ghanta, Singa Baja, Ghoda Nacha, and Paika Nacha will be organised on the occasion.
