‘Gang Rape’ Of Girl Sparks Tension In Sukinda

Jajpur: Tension ran high in a village under Sukinda police limits in Jajpur after an alleged gangrape of a girl.

The incident came to fore after the girl’s father lodged a complaint at Sukinda police station on Wednesday evening.

According to the complaint, two youths dragged the girl into a four-wheeler while she was manning her father’s shop and raped her at a secluded place near Duburi. They then took her to the house of another youth, who is said be a relative of a political leader. The duo thrashed her and took turns to rape her.

They later dropped her near her house.

Following the incident, irate locals gheraoed the police station late on Wednesday and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
