Sambalpur/Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police in Cuttack included six suspended constables of Sambalpur police in their investigation into the escape of gangster Sheikh Hyder from SCB Medical College and Hospital.
The six constables were earlier suspended for dereliction of duty that helped the gangster escape.
“The Commissionerate Police in Cuttack will investigate Hyder’s escape as they have arrested the fugitive and the SCB authorities have registered the complaint at Mangalabag police station in that city. The Sambalpur police are cooperating with the Commissionerate Police and have provided them information related to Hyder,” SP (Sambalpur) B Gangadhar told the media on Sunday.
Also on Sunday, the Commissionerate Police brought the Maruti Swife Dzire car (registration number OD-02-AS-6770) in which Hyder had fled from Telangana, to Cuttack.

During the investigation, police came to know that one Trilochan Sahu is the owner of the car.
While efforts are on to trace the car owner, police are on the hunt for the absconding driver.
After his escape from SCB in the afternoon of April 10, Hyder was captured by the Commissionerate Police in Cuttack from Telangana in the evening of April 15.
After obtaining his transit remand from the local court, police brought him to Cuttack on April 16.
