Kendrapara: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch on Friday interrogated two engineers for their alleged links with gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito.
According to sources, Rural Development Department executive engineer, Nalinikant Senapati and Lift Irrigation Department executive engineer, Bidyabhusan Nayak were questioned at Kendrapara SDPO’s office for alleged financial links with the gangster.
More people are likely to be questioned by the investigating agency for their connection with Tito, the sources added.
The STF on Thursday unearthed the gangster’s involvement in illegal cattle transportation by arresting one of his associates.
The accused identified as Batu Pani, operating the gangster’s cattle transportation network in Odisha and outside, was nabbed by a team of STF from Kalinga Vihar here.
A pistol and four vehicles, including a costly motorcycle, were seized from his possession.
The STF had on Wednesday night picked up an associate of Tito, identified as Saroj Pati from Kendrapara district for interrogation in connection with his links with the gangster, his criminal activities and other affairs.
