Kendrapara: Gangster Tito has been shifted to Jharpara Jail in Bhubaneswar in view of the upcoming elections in Kendrapara. Tito was earlier produced in a Bhubaneswar court on Friday. Security at the jail has been tightened since his arrival.
“Since Kendrapara is going to the polls in the fourth phase of elections in Odisha on April 29, we had written to Kendrapara sub-jail authorities to shift him from the jail,” Special Task Force (STF) SP Prashant Bhoi said. “We suspect he may cause disturbance and influence witnesses of criminal cases registered against him.”
The dreaded criminal was arrested by the STF of the Crime Branch following an encounter at Chandikhole in Jajpur district on June 30, 2018. Since his arrest, the CB took him on remand in three phases, arrested his associates and conducted raids to unearth his criminal activities and unaccounted properties.
