Kendrapara: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch arrested a henchman of gangster Tito in Kendrapara town on Saturday.
The STF team arrested Sheikh Jabid alias Danga from his house in the town’s Imambada Masjid lane area around 9.30 am.
Jabid will be produced in court later in the day, STF officials informed.
According to the STF, Jabid was the prime conspirator in the abduction of Siba Prasad Parida, a local contractor, from his office in Kendrapara town on September 9, 2017, in connection with a tender deal.
After abducting Parida, Jabid took him to Tito’s den and brutally thrashed him for not giving in to the gangster’s ransom demand.
Acting on the complaint lodged by Parida’s family, the STF had launched a manhunt for Jabid.
