Ganja Mafia Ambush Cops in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Four police personnel were critically injured after they were attacked by the ganja mafia in Parajaguda village under Nakamagudi gram panchayat in Malkangiri district on Saturday.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a police team was conducting a raid on a farm cultivating ganja illegally in Parajaguda village of the district. While the cops were at work, a group of ganja mafia ambushed them.  In the process, four cops, including two women police personnel, sustained critical injuries.

The injured police personnel were rushed to Kalimela Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment.

On being informed, Sub-Divisional Police Officer and Arakel police station In-charge (IIC) reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter.

Two police officers are still in the custody of the mafia and efforts are on to free them.
