Paralakhemundi: In a major success in the battle against drug smugglers by police, a huge quantity of ganja valued at around Rs four crore was seized in Mohana area of Odisha’s Gajapati district.
The seizure was made near Madhuramba village in Mohana when the cannabis was being transported in a truck. However, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot, sources said.
The truck carrying ganja was intercepted during a special operation launched by the police. Upon inspection, a huge quantity of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 4 crore, was reported to have been recovered from the vehicle.
A massive hunt has been launched to trace the driver of the truck who managed to flee the scene.
The police have launched an investigation and efforts are on to identify those involved in the racket.
