Bhubaneswar: The officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have seized ganja worth more than Rs one crore from a van near Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, following reliable inputs about smuggling of ganja, the DRI officials kept an eye on the vehicles at Dhalapathar near the capital city.
During the drive, the officials stopped a pick-up on suspicion and on checking inside the vehicle, they found 25 sealed bags. On opening the bags, they found that those contained ganja and seized the contraband.
The ganja, which was being smuggled in the van, weighed around 7.65 quintal. The value of the seized ganja was estimated to be around Rs 1.53 crore, the sources said.
