Jeypore: A joint team comprising officials of three police stations seized ganja of over Rs 1 crore during a night patrolling in Koraput district on Saturday.
According to sources, the team of Lamtaput, Machhkund and Jalaput police stations raided the house of Gobardhan Dalai in Hanumal village near Andhra Pradesh border and seized 813.70 kgs of ganja worth Rs 80 lakh.
In another incident, police detained an Andhra Pradesh-bound mini truck at Debata Chhak and seized 525 kgs of ganja worth Rs 50 lakh. However, the driver and the cleaner managed to escape.
Notably, the Machhkund police had seized ganja worth over Rs 1 crore during a raid on Ektaput village on October 22.
