Ganja Worth Rs 1 Cr Seized In Malkangiri, Two Held

Malkangiri/Boudh: Excise officials and the police seized a truckload of ganja in Chitrakonda area of Odisha’s Malkangiri district during a joint raid on Thursday and detained two persons.

Acting on a tip-off, the team intercepted the truck and seized narcotics valued at around Rs 1 crore in the market. The two detained persons are being interrogated. Preliminary investigation shows the truck was on its way to Haryana.

In another incident, the police seized five sacks of ganja from a car after it met with an accident near the Court Chhak in the town area of Boudh district on Thursday.

While the driver was seriously injured, two passengers in the car managed to flee.

The car was on its way from Baliguda in Kandhamal district to Kantamal in Boudh district when the accident took place.
