Oil tanker trafficking sacks of ganja seized in Malkangiri, 3 held

Malkangiri: Police on Thursday arrested three persons and seized an oil tanker trafficking ganja from Malkangiri bus stand here.
Receiving information about a huge cache of ganja being trafficked in an oil tanker to Sukuma in Chhattisgarh, a police team intercepted the vehicle and recovered ganja worth Rs 1 crore stuffed in sacks.
“The trio is being interrogated to extract information regarding involvement of other people in the smuggling racket,” a police officer said.
This is the biggest ganja haul in Malkangiri, where a few kanwariyas were held for trafficking the contraband from Mathili two months back, the officer added.
