Cuttack: The Excise Department on Saturday afternoon, seized a huge cache of cannabis and arrested four persons at the Nirgundi toll gate.
The accused have been identified as K Laxman Rao (42), Trinath Hantal (27), Seikh Sahani (42) and Sheikh Mohammad Mohsini (32).
Acting on information, officials of the Excise Department frisked a Bolero vehicle near the Nirgundi toll gate. They seized 131 kg ganja worth Rs 15 lakh and arrested the four persons for smuggling contraband.
Sources said the cannabis was being transported from Koraput to Balasore.
