Bhubaneswar: The officials from the directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized ganja worth Rs 2 crore from a truck at Khandagiri Square here on Thursday.
A person has been detained in connection with the seizure and the vehicle seized.
According to available information, the DRI officials received a tip-off regarding the ganja smuggling and intercepted the vehicle. During the search, they found the banned substance hidden beneath some dress materials, oil and nuts.
The ganja weighing around one tonne was being transported from Ichchapuram in Andhra Pradesh to parts of Bihar via Bhubaneswar, an official informed.
Involvement of more people in the smuggling racket is being suspected and efforts are on to trace them, the official added.
