Ganja Worth Rs 80 Lakh Seized in Odisha’s Capital City

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of the directorate of revenue intelligence (DRI) on Tuesday seized a huge quantity of ganja in Bhubaneswar while being smuggled to Bihar.

According to sources, the DRI sleuths intercepted a vegetable-laden truck near Khandagiri and during search of the vehicle, about 5.5 quintal of ganja was found. The contraband was being smuggled from Andhra Pradesh to Bihar. The cost of the seized ganja was estimated to be around Rs 80 lakh.

The DRI has been keeping a close eye on the smuggling of narcotics particularly from the Maoist-prone areas. Recently, huge amount of ganja was seized in different parts of southern Odisha by enforcement agencies.
