Marijuana Worth Rs 9.5 Cr Seized From 2 Female Passengers At Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar: The Customs Commissionerate on Monday seized marijuana worth over Rs 9 crore from two female passengers at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha capital.

The two flyers, who arrived at BPIA from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, were found carrying greenish and lumpy substance in 19 vacuum packed transparent packets in the checked-in baggages, which tested positive for marijuana. The market price of the seized contraband is estimated to be Rs 9.52 crore.

The two women have been arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and will be produced in a court, official sources said.
