Kandhamal: Body of a ‘Gaon Sathi’, who was allegedly abducted by the Maoists from Durgapanga village in Kandhamal district on Sunday, was found on Tuesday morning with gunshot injuries near Satanalia under Baliguda police limits.
Several posters of Bansadhara-Ghumusar-Nagavali division of Maoists were found near the body. Through the posters, the rebels have warned the villagers of a similar fate if they continued to work as police informers.
Following the incident, a group of villagers staged a blockade near Durgapanga village demanding adequate compensation to the family of the deceased and action against those involved in the killing.
On Sunday, a group of 10-15 armed Maoists reportedly barged into the victim’s house and kidnapped her on the suspicion of being a police informer.
