Jajpur: Two persons were injured when a two-wheeler collided with a gas tanker near Kadei Square on NH-16 in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Friday.
Soon after, gas started leaking from the tanker leading to panic among the locals.
According to sources, the mishap occurred when the motorcycle collided with the tanker and hit the tyre as a result the tyre burst and the vehicle skid for a little distance.
As the news spread, Chandikhole fire brigade personnel reached the spot and brought the leak under control.
The injured were rushed to Badachana medical centre in critical condition.
The sources said that a major accident could be averted as there was less traffic on the highway.
Badachana police reached the spot and are investigating the matter.
