Gas Tanker Overturns On NH In Odisha’s Kalahandi; Electricity Supply Snapped

Kalahandi: A gas tanker overturned on National Highway-16 near Pastipada in Odisha’s Kalahandi on Sunday morning.

According to sources, the vehicle was en route to Raipur from Bhawanipatna and the national highway had to be sealed from both sides for security reasons following the mishap in which the driver and the helper were injured.

Fire services personnel were soon at the spot to initiate necessary action.

The district administration also snapped the electricity supply to the area as a preventive measure. Locals were advised against using cooking gas or stoves.

An expert team has been called in to drain the gas from the tank, the sources added.
