Gas Tanker Turns Turtle In Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: A gas tanker overturned on the busy National Highway-6 at Pokharibandha in Kalahandi district on Friday morning, disrupting vehicular movement for several hours.

No injury was reported in the mishap.

As the gas started leaking from the tanker, fire personnel and police blocked the road connecting Rayagada and Bhawanipatna to prevent fire from the vehicle. Following which vehicular movement was disrupted on the route for a couple of hours.

The accident occurred at around 5 am when the driver of the vehicle coming from Visakhapatnam lost control over the wheels while attempting to negotiate a sharp turn, police sources said.
