Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress chief Gaurav Gogoi suffered a crushing defeat in Jorhat, losing to BJP’s Hitendra Nath Goswami by 23,182 votes, as trends signal a sweeping NDA triumph in the sam Assembly election 2026.

The BJP-led NDA has clinched four seats so far, with the latest assembly election results showing the ruling coalition ahead in 94 seats while the Congress-led alliance trails by 28 constituency wins.
