Gemopai Electric, a joint venture between Goreen E-Mobility and Opai Electric, on Tuesday launched a new electric scooter in India. Named Astrid Lite, the scooter has a range of 75-90 km. It is priced at ₹ 79,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it one of the most affordable long range electric scooters in the market.
The scooter has a 2,400 W electric motor and a removable 1.7 kWh lithium-ion battery. The top speed of the scooter is 65 kmph. It has 3 riding modes – City, Sport and Economy. The scooter can climb a 18 degree gradient.
There is a provision to install a second battery and double the range to 150-180 km.
The Astrid Lite features a full colour LED display, full LED lighting, keyless start, USB port, disc brake at front, anti-theft sensor and electronic assist brake system (EABS).
The colours available are Eclectic Neon, Deep Indigo, Fiery Red, Burnt Charcoal and Fireball Orange.
The scooter will be delivered in the 1st week of October and will be sold in Nepal too.
