Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended Gender Coordinator at the office of District Project Co-ordinator (Samagra Sikhya) in Odisha’s Balangir while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 31,000.
She has been identified as Puspangini Joshi.
According to a Vigilance release, Joshi had demanded illegal gratification from a headmaster, who earlier served as hostel in-charge, for adjustment/approval of utilisation certificate and issuance of clearance certificate. The entire bribe money was recovered from her.
With a case under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, has been registered, the Vigilance officials are conducted simultaneous searches at three liked to Joshi to ascertain whether she had accumulated assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.
