New Delhi: Voting for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 is currently under way in 88 constituencies across 12 states and a UT. 1206 candidates from 12 states and UTs along with four candidates from the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency are contesting elections in phase 2 of the Lok Sabha Elections, the Election Commission of India said.
As per the poll commission, a total of 2633 nominations were filed for 89 parliamentary constituencies across 13 States and UTs going for polls in phase 2 for the Lok Sabha Elections.
The voters turnout in the various state till 1 pm was as follow: Assam 46.31% Bihar 33.80% Chhattisgarh 53.09% Jammu And Kashmir 42.88% Karnataka 38.23% Kerala 39.26% Madhya Pradesh 38.96% Maharashtra 31.77% Manipur 54.26% Rajasthan 40.39% Tripura 54.47% Uttar Pradesh 35.73% West Bengal 47.29%.
With 36.59% voter turnout in, Purnia recorded the highest polling percentage in Bihar till 1pm.
Tripura has recorded the highest voter turnout of 54.47 per cent till 1 pm, as compared to the rest of the 12 states.
At 18 % Maharashtra recorded the lowest turnout of voters.
