Ghana National Held for Duping Odisha Doctor

Angul: A foreign national was arrested from Angul Railway Station on Wednesday for allegedly for duping a paediatric doctor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics on the pretext of giving him a medical instrument.

The instrument worth Rs 18.50 lakh was to be used at his clinic at Tala Telenga Bazaar.

The accused has been identified as Nicolas Kujoe (44), a national of Ghana.

Police seized Rs 18.50 lakh cash, passport and a mobile phone from his possession.

According to sources, Nicolas has been living in Mumbai on a business visa since October 2018. He duped Dr Mangal Charan Murmu by promising him the medical equipment at a cheaper price. The doctor informed police and lodged a complaint.

On being informed, the police raided the Angul Railway Station and arrested Nicolas.
