Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s exports in the Information Technology (IT) sector, which stood at just Rs 27 lakh in 1993-94, has substantially increased to Rs 7,500 crore in 2023-24, the state Assembly was informed on Monday.
In a written answer in the House, Electronics and IT Minister Mukesh Mahaling said that software exports from Odisha started in 1993-94 following the establishment of STPI in 1991.
Noting that Odisha is among the top ten software exporting states in the country, the Minister said that the state has software exports from the state was to the tune of 58,815.61 crore between 1993-94 and 2023-24.
There is a proposal to achieve software exports of Rs 900 crore during the current year, he added.
