Giraffe Sculpture Made Of Scrap By Odisha Students In Asia Book Of Records

Behrampur: The students of government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) here recently made a giraffe sculpture using scrap items such as scrap iron rods from broken roof castings and other things. The sculpture has now won recognition in Asia Book Of Records for ‘Largest Sculpture Giraffe’.

A total of 35 students of fitter trade took 22 days to put up the 32 feet height and 12 feet wide giraffe sculpture. It weighs about 2000 kg.

The institute is not unknown to such records. A while back, it was awarded the grandmaster certification from Asia Book of Records for erecting a large 70 feet guitar from waste. A total of 150 students took 3 months and 22 days to build it.

The institute’s principal Rajat Kumar Panigrahy has attributed the success to the hard work of the students.

The institute has put up on display around 10 such sculptures – table lamp made of bike gear, flower vase from broken bathroom pipe fittings, deer and Spiderman made of scraps from cars and broken houses.
