Balasore: A girl allegedly attacked a woman and her three-year-old daughter at Palua village under town police limits in Balasore district on Friday.
According to available information, the girl barged into the woman’s house and attacked her with an axe. She also attacked her daughter before fleeing the spot.
Hearing screams of the duo, neighbours came to their rescue.
They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital in a critical condition.
Though the reason behind the murderous attack is yet to be ascertained, locals told police that the girl might have committed the crime on suspicion of an illicit relationship between her father and the woman.
