Girl Commits Suicide By Setting Herself On Fire In Front Of Lover’s House

Rourkela: A girl allegedly committed suicide by setting herself on fire in front of her lover’s house at Sector-B under Bondamunda police limits in Rourkela on Friday.

The girl identified as Asha Nayak (22) was rescued by some locals and admitted to Bondamunda hospital. She was later shifted to Ispat General Hospital after her condition deteriorated. However, the doctors declared her dead at the hospital.

Following the incident, father of the deceased girl Biranchi Nayak, a railway official, lodged a complaint at Bondamunda police stations alleging that her daughter was burnt alive by her lover Amit Jadav.

Police have registered a case based on the complaint and started conducting raids to nab Amit, who is absconding.

According to sources, the duo was in a relationship for a long time and Asha had been coaxing him for marriage.
