Girl Dies, 4 Critical Due To Electrocution In Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic incident, a girl died and four others including her parents were critically injured due to electrocution at a village in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Monday.

The incident took place at Balisahi under the jurisdiction of Kujanga police station in the district. The deceased has been identified as Ranu Behera of Balisahi.

Sources said Ranu first came in contact with a live electric wire following which her parents, elder brother and a neighbour tried to save her. However, they were critically injured due the electrocution.

While Ranu was stated to have died on the spot, the injured were immediately rushed to hospital at Kujanga for treatment. One of them was later shifted to Jagatsinghur District Headquarter Hospital.
