Balasore: A truck ran over a girl, killing her on the spot, near Mahagaba Haat under Bhogarai block in Balasore district on Monday morning.
The victim was identified as Simaran Sahoo. The truck driver fled the spot immediately after the accident.
Locals staged a blockade near the accident spot, demanding adequate compensation to the girl’s family and action against the driver of the vehicle.
The blockade was lifted after police reached the spot and assured the agitators of immediate action into the matter.
